The Turret Clock Database
More than forty years in development, and with some rapid recent expansion, the AHS Turret Clock Database is the largest and most detailed database dedicated to clocks in the public realm. It currently holds more than 7,500 entries, mainly comprising installations across the United Kingdom and Ireland, but also some overseas locations. It includes information on clocks, their makers, dates, locations, dimensions and more, often enhanced with images.
Ambition
Despite its size, the database could grow substantially. There are thousands of clocks still unrecorded, and a volunteer effort is underway to record the details of additional clocks, and then to input and moderate new entries to the database. If you think you can play a role, please contact the AHS Secretary or the AHS Turret Clock Group.
Search
You can get underway with searching the database here.
Contribute
To contribute details on a clock, please use the 'Create New Clock' function in the database. Alternatively, a recording form suitable for printing can be downloaded here.
Acknowledgements
The long-term development of the database has only been made possible through the very significant contributions of David Nettell, Michael Applebee, Mike Bundock, Chris McKay, Paul Platt and Andy Burdon.
